Bristol region covers a large area from Gloucestershire down to Cornwall, Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud, South West, with many spectacular climbing and walking destinations. We are centred around Bristol but we have active members throughout the region and an extensive calendar of activities – walking, climbing and social.
Walks every month, usually Sundays, to places such as The Mendips, The Cotswolds, The Brecon Beacons and Dartmoor.
As with other Red Rope events, shared transport is arranged. Monthly walks are of a moderate length and cater for most walkers abilities however we also have a summer programme of longer walks for those interested.
We meet every second Thursday of month from 9.15 pm at
The Nova Scotia, Harbourside,

Climbing with Bristol group
Our well established climbing programme enjoys the numerous classic crags in our region such as those in the Wye Valley, Avon Gorge, Cheddar Gorge and Symonds Yat. We organise climbs two evenings a week. Climbs are Outdoors from April to September as daylight allows and at indoor climbing walls during the winter. Weekend climbing is generally organised on a less formal basis but we are a well established and inclusive community of climbers and always welcome new members.
Weekday evening outdoors on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from the start of British Summer Time.
Winter climbing: St Werburghs on Tuesday night and The Climbing Academy on Thursday nights.
